I'm on a posting roll today.  Not much to do other than go pick up my paycheck and study for the THEA.

Loathing:

• my inability to stop putting things off until the very last second
• burnt coffee
• stupid contacts
• forgetting to take off my eye makeup before bed
• gas prices...seriously, I declare SHENANIGANS!

Loving:

• Austin, naturally
• my new Whole Foods reusable shopping bags.  They're huge, well-made and gorgeous compared to the shit ones you find elsewhere.  Only 99 cents, too.  I got two, and got an extra twenty cents off.  I feel lovely and green.
• The Middleman.  I've mentioned this before, but I can't get enough of it.  Especially when they bleep out the words.

Looking forward to:

• getting stuff done
• Tish's party this weekend

It's short one, but I can't miss ToT.

Loathing:

• car insurance rate went up
• I have to pay my tuition in full in less than a month
  
• no sugar or sweetener anywhere in the house = really strong, bitter coffee
  
• my left contact is bothering me
• my jaw hurts like a bitch and I wish I had the money to go to the dentist
• I really miss the library.  Like, really.
• with school looming on the horizon, I don't have time to read for fun anymore

Loving:

• Pandora.com
• the pretty silver bracelet I bartered for...it was priced at $25, I talked him down to $10.  I told him I was a starving college student, which isn't necessarily a lie.
• old friends
  
• new friends
• making plans
• laughing about nothing in particular

Looking forward to:

• Austin...in less than four days!  IT'S HERE!
• hanging out with my Leslie
• having a drink with an old buddy we haven't seen in a while
• seeing my sister and my nephew
  

Wow, I'm a little behind...forgot it was Tuesday.

Loathes:

• beer burps
• humidity
• getting over a stuffy nose
• arrogance and apathy

Loves:

• chatting with friends on the phone for hours...just like the good old days
• stupid quizzes
• forgetting that I have a magazine subscription, then receiving a new issue
• getting a serious "woo-hoo!"...and not from construction workers
• intelligent conversation
• quirkiness
  
• finding fellow quirkies to have intelligent conversations with
• saving my money, so I can spend it in Austin
• my butt

Looking forward to:

• EVERYTHING!
  

It's already July.  The year's half over.  That's crazy.

BOO!

• I feel yucky, and can't go to the doctor, because I don't have insurance anymore.
• Seriously, can I please stop getting zits?
• PMS
• I'm feeling really jaded and cynical.  I don't like it, and I worry that I've lost my innocence (what little I had left, anyway).
• I should feel more patriotic this week, but with gas prices and finding most of my fellow Americans quite disgusting, I find it hard to not wish I was living in that lovely forest in Nova Scotia that I mentioned yesterday.  Sorry, I do love my country, but I don't like it much right now.

YAY!

• Lipozene.  For that last five pounds of gut.
• Earthbound Trading Company, a new store at the mall.  Best earrings I've seen in a long time, and cheap, too!
• Pandora Radio.  It builds personal stations around whatever artist you pick.  I'm listening to the "Adele" station right now, and it's playing stuff like Joss Stone, Corinne Bailey Rae, Sara Bareilles, John Legend, and Amy Winehouse.  Nice!
• NPR
• Beer and trivia at Fridays, and being able to cheer up a really upset friend.
• There's a baby shower at work this week!

I can't wait!

• Austin in 18 days!
• Tish's 30th B-Day BBQ/Backyard Boogie!
• School!
• Voodoo!
• New Ray LaMontagne album in the fall!

Loathing:

• people who can't write legibly or add numbers correctly, resulting in time lost deciphering their errors at work
• I seem to always be broke (besides savings that I absolutely WILL NOT TOUCH)
• less to watch on TV these days
• I hate my toenails

Loving:

• finally getting a library card and finding out that my address is actually considered inside the city's limits, so materials are unlimited and FREEEEEEEE!  No more spending money on books and movie rentals all the time!
  
• California clubs for lunch...mmmm, bean sprouts and guac
• my hair, which I have learned to control.  If I want it straight, it's straight; if I want curly locks, they curl; and by God if I want body, I get body!
• root volumizers are nice, too
• have only eaten junk food a bit, mostly in the form of sugar-free Popsicles (do they even count?)
  
• my nails are getting stronger, but I'm keeping them short for work

Looking forward to:

• getting out of Tyler for a weekend
• The X-Files movie
• school
• payday
• figuring out the kind of hairstyle I want

Is it already Tuesday again?  The weeks go by so quickly now.

Things that make me frown:

• hit a damn pole (not hard), causing a scrape/dent in the front passenger side of my poor, dear car.  Will have to get it fixed next month.  I'm so stupid sometimes.
• a two-week pay lag at the bank.
• it's so freaking hot outside.
• half of me is nice and tan (and freckled), half of me is as white as can be.  I guess I should admit defeat and sit in a tanning bed.

Things that make me smile:

• my new hair straightener (not a Chi, but it'll do for now), which makes even my bed head look damn sexy the next day!
• vitamins for my hair and nails that are working like magic after only a few days.  Holy cow!
• looks like it's going to storm most of the week...bring it on!
  
• The New Penguin History of the World, Fifth Edition.  Oh, sweet, sweet history.
• being off this upcoming weekend.  Lots of things to do.
• The Hush Sound.  Their music makes me so happy.  Especially "The Boys Are Too Refined".
• there's a new (used) bookstore in town, and it doesn't look as seedy as the rest!
• The Middle Man, which is like Pushing Daisies meets Doctor Who meets The X-Files meets a Kevin Smith movie.
• Getting emails from old friends that say, "I saw the preview for the X-Files movie, and I immediately thought of you!"
• buying lots of really delish organic fruit and making a huge smoothie.
• new face cleanser = no more zits!
  

Things I am looking forward to:

• going out this weekend??
• I get to go stare at my favorite random cute guy tomorrow.  Or pretend not to stare, whatever.
• shopping in the SoCo district in Austin.
• Halloween.  I think I'm going to go as Amy Winehouse.  I got creative with the eyeliner last night (I was really bored), and it looked pretty hilarious.

• I've lost two inches around my waist since I measured it in February
  
• I love my new notebook

• payday, naturally
• Austin in July!
• paying for my classes (though I'm going to miss the money)
  

Loathing:

• still getting a few errors at work
• my mouth hurts
• it's PMS time
• stupid bangs in weird middle-length phase
• bills
• I can't have a pet

Loving:

• my clean room
• having to buy more hangers for my ever-expanding wardrobe
• my clean car
• cheap coffee
• Ben & Jerry's Dublin Mudslide ice cream
• having my sister and nephew in town again
• being able to use my sister's kick-ass, very expensive flat iron

Looking forward to:

• my next day off...maybe Sunday, if I can manage it.
• floating down the Guadalupe in my bathing suit, dragging along a cooler of beer
• Julie's letting me borrow Sex with Kings, which I've been dying to read

Loathing:

• not being able to sleep
• being a little poor
• papercuts
• not smoking
• breaking three of my nails while bowling...and they were just starting to look so pretty
• not being able to eat more of the guacamole before someone else finished it off
• lunges

Loving:

• exercising and feeling better about myself
• not smoking (see, this is both a loving/loathing that only smokers can understand)
• being noticed
• smoothies, but not necessarily the effects

Looking forward to:

• getting tomorrow over with (huge catch-up day at the bank due to being closed today)
• payday...bills, bills, bills!
• Friday, when I get to dress up (we're channeling Carrie Bradshaw for this particular outing), eat sushi, and watch Sex and the City!!
• my next day off
• working up to a steady jog without resting around the path at UT

• season/series finales that make me want to tear my hair out
• my stupid toe...it still hurts

• sleeping in

Looking forward to:

• Thursday night finales...even though they're sure to piss me off (Gio or Henry?  Henry or Gio?  Who will Betty choose?!?!?!  It had better be Gio or Aubrey's gonna cut a bitch.)
